Physiotherapist

Sheinaz Abuani, a physiotherapist who graduated from McGill University, has over 22 years’ experience in orthopedic rehabilitation and more than 16 years in perineal and pelvic rehabilitation for women, men, and the transgender population.

Passionate about the complexities of the pelvic region, Sheinaz has taken nearly thirty specialized training courses to serve clients suffering from chronic urogynecological problems, pre- and post-partum conditions, and post-operative sequelae. She has distinguished herself as a physiotherapist in these fields, becoming the recipient of a clinical research internship grant from the Ordre Professionnel de la Physiothérapie du Québec, this in collaboration with the Université de Sherbrooke in 2019. In 2020, she once again demonstrates her commitment to improving clinical practice by winning the prestigious Best Abstract Award in the Physiotherapy Rehabilitation category at the International Continence Society 2020 (ICS) Annual Congress.

Complementing her clinical practice, Sheinaz also holds a yoga teacher certification from the Sivananda International Yoga Center, a training that took her to India, to the root of true yoga practice. She integrates specialized yoga for the relief of chronic pelvic pain into her conventional practice.

Sheinaz is a member in good standing of the Ordre Professionnel de la Physiothérapie du Québec.

Michelle has been practicing yoga for over 25 years.
